Serena Williams has emergency surgery for a Hematoma a week after a blood clot was found in her lungs!!!

NEW YORK (March 2, 2011)—People magazine reported today that the talented tennis star, Serena Williams, has undergone surgery for a pulmonary embolism. Spokeswoman Nicole Chabot told the magazine that the blood clot in Williams' lungs was discovered last week, and that she had "emergency treatment (Monday) for a hematoma she suffered as a result" of that treatment. Williams is currently being treated at a Los Angeles hospital.

"Doctors are continuing to monitor her situation closely to avoid additional complications," Chabot told the magazine. Williams has been sidelined by two operations on her right foot after she was cut by glass at a restaurant. It was announced two weeks ago that Serena will play for the Washington Kastles during the upcoming World Team Tennis season in July. My prayers are with you are your family during this time of need. May God bless you with a speedy recovery!!!
